From being a student to helping students

Hi everyone, I’m Nour, a graduate student in International Business Management. After discovering and using the PocketConfidant technology, I wanted to start helping my peers as well, to support and empower them during their academic, professional and personal journey. I had the idea to add student podcasts to the self-coaching technology, which perfectly matches the objective and vision of empowering students and developing their capacity to self-coach anywhere, anytime. It is a great opportunity for us, students, to be able to acquire skills and strategies that our educational programs do not provide us that easily. Indeed, student support and coaching require time, resources, management and the resources provided by our programs do not often inspire us, or we do not even know how to use them in the best possible way. Podcasts are very useful as you can listen to them whenever you need and want to, they provide a lot of flexibility and intimacy as we can choose where to listen to them (at home for instance). They help our own personal and professional development and there are no fees or a big amount of energy required to benefit from them.

PocketConfidant Podcasts are episodes of about twenty minutes. It is the type of content where students and guests (education leaders, students having great insights to share, teachers, parents and many others) can share their experiences, tips and advice. Every subject will be discussed with coaching expertise and the latest research and scientific insights. In addition, anyone can benefit by listening and learning how to use the valuable supporting tools provided, such as reflecting better on your issues, asking yourself good questions and increasing your self-knowledge to be more proficient in handling academic and professional tasks. The podcasts will allow us, students, to reflect on our issues, understand and work on our own action plans using technology, supported by reminders and videos, expert and student coaching. It is all about finding and crafting our own way to improving reflections, attitudes, behaviors and actions and then adapting our outcomes to our needs, our learning, and what’s best for us. Each podcast will focus on issues that students face in their academic journey and will provide different perspectives on the issue.

Coaching podcasts

The first podcast is about Self-Organization and Time-Management. In other words, how, as a student, you can achieve your tasks and goals, while at the same time still feel good and enjoy your student life and experiences. You will have the opportunity to listen to expert insights on the subject, presented by PocketConfidant senior coach Isla Reddin and to Eleonora, an Interior Design student who is passionate about Education and Psychology and who will tell her story as well as give tips and advice to help students address their issues or obstacles. As a student and enthusiastic advocate of self-coaching, I will represent students’ issues that are addressed with PocketConfidant by asking both participants key questions and adding further tips and advice that I learned from using self-coaching and coaching tips.*

Join the podcasts as they will help us to empower more and more students by students and grow together, no matter where students are in the world, what they do or where they stand in their academic, professional and personal journey. The podcast on time-management and self-organization being ready you can access it here.
